Renegade Music

Who is Papa Roach trying to be? If the band's latest album "Who Do You Trust?" is any indication, a bunch of bands apparently. Now, I am certainly not intimately familiar with Papa Roach's work apart from the iconic "Last Resort," but this was really bad. From their rip-off Rage Against the Machine ditty, "Renegade Music," to a poor-man's Imagine Dragon's in "Elevate." There was also a couple Linkin Park-esque tracks, and a lot of attempted rap lyrics. This album is a mess. "Top of the World" even reminded me of a really bad pop-punk song. I might have never heard a more sloppy and all over the place record. It was like the band threw darts at different genres, bands and then did some weird challenge to try and write songs in those themes. Wait...perhaps I cracked the code, at least I hope so for Papa Roach's sake.
