Crazy=Genius

Panic! at the Disco's "Death Of A Bachelor" is the band's most complete album since 2008's "Pretty. Odd." I really enjoy this album's grandiosity and eccentric sound. Plus Brendon Urie's voice is still ridiculous. Though Panic! is still only the second best band from Vegas (nod to The Killers), they are constantly maturing and evolving, and I enjoy it.

Heartache Tonight

I thought for sure that the first Eagle (my favorite band of all time by the by) to die would be Joe Walsh (incidentally my favorite Eagle). However, Glenn Frey, who founded the band back in 1971, and was basically the head of the band, passed away last weekend. He will be missed as an Icon, legend and fantastic songwriter.  That is why I picked the song co-written and vocalized by Frey, "Heartache Tonight." That song also happens to be on my favorite Eagles album, "The Long Run," the final album before the band broke up in 1980. It certainly is a heartache after hearing this news. I had the great privilege of seeing the Eagles in 2007, and it was the best concert I've ever attended. The Eagles played almost their entire catalog entertaining the crowd for more than 3 hours with one 15-minute break. I am surely sad that I'll never be able to witness something like that again. Rest in peace, and thank you for more than 40 years of fantastic music.

I did take a lot of photos from Jan. 7-12, so enjoy those, and as always they are available for sale at the Morrison County Record's smugmug at ecmpublishers.smugmug.com/MorrisonCountyRecord
