Pure Comedy/I Think She Like Me

I've been really ripping a lot of artists that I dislike lately. If you enjoy that, you're in luck. I absolutely hated a recent single from the hipster-garbage artist known as Father John Misty (FJM). For some inexplicable reason folks (mostly hipsters) really enjoy him. In "Pure Comedy" FJM sounds like Garth Brooks, but like Garth Brooks when he tried to go emo as Chris Gaines, singing a Billy Joel song. The song also hits political tones with a 10-ton hammer, zero subtlety or metaphor needed. This upsets me.

Those of you who don't like those should have probably skipped straight to this paragraph for my more positive review. Hmm...maybe I should have said that first. Oh well. One song that I listened to recently that I liked significantly more than "Pure Comedy" was "I Think She Like Me." Despite the lack of proper English and the fact that it is a generic Rick Ross track. I liked the song. At least it can be bumped going down the road. Plus it has a romantic theme, sort of.

Easy Target

John Mellencamp should just quit. Ever since he rid himself of the Cougar moniker he has pretty much been complete trash. Evidence is in his recent release "Easy Target" a single in which sounds like Mellencamp is mocking a black blues singer. Maybe he's just smoked so many cigarettes that his throat turned to ash. Either way it sounded awful. Mellencamp should end his music career now, or at least stick to his hits.

Feel Me

While not terribly substantive, Tyga's latest single, "Feel Me" featuring Kardashian/Jenner clan family member Kanye West, is pretty catchy. It's one of those songs that I'd roll down the windows and crank to just vibe to down the road.
