High Hopes

A very solid band that often comes up in my Spotify rotation is Panic! At the Disco. They do happen to release quite a few good albums, and their recent release "Pray for the Wicked" is no exception. There is no band, apart from maybe MUSE, that pushes themselves so creatively without losing themselves. Each album is a step in evolution for them. I really enjoyed it, especially the catchy, "High Hopes."

I have a few photos to share from baseball and such.

Nothing Makes Sense

Full disclosure, I have never been a fan of Linkin Park, which includes guitarist Mike Shinoda, who recently released his album "Post Traumatic" following the death of Linkin Park's lead singer, Chester Bennington. After listening to Shinoda's solo album, I came the conclusion that Shinoda is not the most talented singer, songwriter, musician and most especially rapper. However, I did admire the raw vulnerability and emotion that was clear throughout the album. The rock-type songs were much more listenable than the rap, which was often very bad, but good for you getting out there. The song "Promises I Can't Keep" was the most Linkin Park-esque song on the album for me, not that I really liked it. My favorite song was "Nothing Makes Sense," mostly due to the simple, raw and honest feel to it. I probably won't ever listen to this again, but it was nice to hear something out of my comfort zone, and I believe fans of Linkin Park will definitely enjoy it.

Anyhow, I have many dozen photos to share from May 31-June 10.
