Busy

I'm throwing back to the Sean Paul track from the early 2000s because that is what I am this week. I don't have enough time to throw out all 50 pictures from the past two weeks and write up cutlines for them each, so I'm just leaving you all with link to our smugmug where you can look at (and hopefully purchase :) these photos from several events between Dec. 10-22.

Hopefully I should be back with a normal blog next Tuesday.

Crocodile Python

Rick Ross is the Bo$$. His new album "Black Market" isn't his finest, but is yet another chapter in the sick beats and just general bad ass persona of South Florida's finest rap artist. The song "Crocodile Python," was one of my favorites. I would just love to be hanging out on a yacht off South Beach in Miami listening to that.

I did not make the playoffs in two leagues, and had a bye in another this week, so I'm not really looking forward to the fantasy football playoffs for the first time in quite a number of years. I think I may be losing my skill set, or everyone else just caught up to me.

Man in the Night

One strange and wild trip. That simple sentence describes the latest Kid Cudi output, "Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven." With lengthy (and humorous) appearances from Beavis and Butthead, a mostly 90s grunge/punk vibe hangs over the entire album. My favorite song also happens to be the first Beavis and Butthead sketch, "Man in the Night," and is easily the most listenable. A lot of the album is clearly Cudi tripping his brains out. Apparently he didn't learn from Weezy that hip-hop artists making rock albums does not work. He even went super emo in "Wedding Tux," barking out the lyrics, "everything, everyone sucks." It is a 26-track super album of trippy, trancy, 90s-infused hip-punk-hop-rock. I can't even tell if I like it or hate it. It's hard to make sense of it all.

Anyhow, I failed to make the playoffs in my two most important leagues for fantasy football. It was an off year filled with injuries and bad calls. Best to wipe it off and hope for a better year next fall.

I have some photos from the Little Falls girls basketball opener, Dec. 1.

When I Was a Boy

Jeff Lynne's ELO, not quite sure what that means, but it sure sounds like old-ELO to me. Very Beatles-influenced and mostly slower stuff, but very good. Worth a listen or two I imagine. The first track, "When I Was a Boy," jumped out at me as a melodic and beautiful tune. Many more follow.

Took a step in the wrong direction in fantasy this week, as I am officially out of playoff contention in one league and need a lot of help to make it in another. Of course my third league I am 10-2 and clinched the top seed already, so...

Have a number of pictures from the end of November sports today. Next week will be pretty thin though, so enjoy these. Remember, the photos can all be purchased at ecmpublishers.smugmug.com/MorrisonCountyRecord

Runaway

Always evolving their sound, We The Kings does it again with their latest album, "Strange Love." They keep their pop and romantic roots, while they grow more mature in their sound. I didn't love the album, but I appreciate the hard work, and they are still one of my favorite bands.

The song I picked was perfect, because this blog will include a number of photos from Pierz' runaway win at the Class 3A Prep bowl (36-8), Nov. 14.
