Runaway

Always evolving their sound, We The Kings does it again with their latest album, "Strange Love." They keep their pop and romantic roots, while they grow more mature in their sound. I didn't love the album, but I appreciate the hard work, and they are still one of my favorite bands.

The song I picked was perfect, because this blog will include a number of photos from Pierz' runaway win at the Class 3A Prep bowl (36-8), Nov. 14.

Former Pierz running back Robbie Skiba goes down to congratulate his former teammates after the 36-8 win, Nov. 14.

Dehler gives Jonny Kasper a little love tap after the senior scored a touchdown in the second half.

Love Yourself

Bieber is still Bieber. He recently released a new album that is titled "Purpose." His purpose is to make great pop music, and he is still doing it, and in an even more mature way.

Fantasy football continued to be great for me with wins in each league again this week. That's four in a row in the league where I was 0-6. Hopefully that continues this week. I still have a shot at the playoffs.

Photos aren't as numerous for the next few weeks, but I have a few to share. Purchase photos at ecmpublishers.smugmug.com/MorrisonCountyRecord, and follow me on Twitter @typhoonaer467

Pierz' Noah Boser follows his blockers against Tri City United in the state semifinal game at Park Center High School, Nov. 6.

Jonny Kasper (No. 22) blocks for Boser.

Teddy Dehler and David Skiba (No. 75) burst through the stat girls' sign after halftime.

Pierz senior Nick Herold spins away from a TCU defender.

Working Class Hero (Work)

A danceable, musical and soulful album that entertains all who appreciate modern music at its finest. Those are words that describe the latest album released by CeeLo Green, one of the most underrated artists of our time. The album, "Heart Blanche," although a terrible pun, is otherwise a very listenable and strong effort from CeeLo, who hasn't had a hit since his 2010 album, "The Lady Killer," which was fantastic.

Fantasy football has continued to go pretty well for me, as I am now 7-2, 5-4 an 3-6 in my three leagues. I've won three in a row in the final league.

I have 11 photos from Oct. 29-Nov. 3 to share. They are from Section 8AA cross country and Pierz' state quarterfinal game against Albany.

Pierz senior Noah Boser runs around the Albany defense, including Jonathan Bauer.

Albany's Will Kleinschmidt flips Pierz' Kolton Eischens (No. 20) into the air.

The Little Falls varsity cross country team prepares to start at the Section 8AA race in Otsego, Oct. 29.

Pierz senior Jonny Kasper puts his hand out to try and stiff arm a Huskies defender, Oct. 31, at SCSU.

Kasper breaks away from Bauer.

Thank God for Girls

As soon as I saw the photo that accompanied the latest Weezer single, "Thank God for Girls," I knew the song would be a typical new-Weezer song, in other words—mediocre. The photo for the single is a view from behind Pope Francis meeting with a group of girls, presumably when he recently visited the U.S. And, well... It was just that. Also, I felt like Weezer's latest album, "Everything Will Be Alright In the End," (which was pretty good) came out yesterday (it was actually over a year ago), so why are they already releasing a new single? I hope they aren't rushing out albums. Please come back old Weezer.

Things are looking up in fantasy football, as I won for the second week in a row in my main league. I am now 2-6 and only two games out of a playoff spot. In my other leagues I am 6-2 and 5-3 respectively, so it is looking up. Daily is still a wasteland.

Lots of photos this week. To purchase go to ecmpublishers.smugmug/MorrisonCountyRecord. To see updates of playoff events follow @typhoonater467 on Twitter.

Teddy Dehler holds up the Section 5AAA Champion plaque as the Pioneers celebrate an 18-12 win over Annandale, Oct. 24.

Pierz senior Noah Boser gets past a diving Brett Wadman.

Boser steps past Wadman.

Pierz senior Kolton Eischens goes low and flips Annandale rusher, Widman.

Clever.

Widman juggles, but eventually catches, a pass.

Michael Meyer lands after making a leaping grab.

Royalton's Jordan Malikowski rounds a turn at the Central Minnesota Conference Meet in Pierz, Oct. 22.

I believe this is Pierz' Andrew Dieterle.

Marcus Rick runs ahead of several races on his way to All-CMC honors.

Meyer prepares to haul in the pass.

I'm pretty sure this is Wadman intercepting a pass in front of Meyer.
