Glow

Drake continues to push the boundaries of both modern music and the modern rap/R&B combo star. He added several genres and included a litany of producers and guest stars to what he is dubbing a "playlist." That's right, mixtapes and albums are far to blasé for Drake. I guess that's cool, he's trying to be different. As far as the music goes, it is not nearly as good as his last to projects, which were fantastic. It was quite disjointed and felt a bit forced or fake, which is ironic considering the first single was "Fake Love" and another song is called "Fake Smoke." For me, the best track on the 22-song playlist is "Glow" featuring Kanye West.

Anyhow, since I didn't have photos from last week, here are photos from March 2-9.

Way It Goes

In total, 16 bands from Minnesota will be performing at SXSW, which is of course in Austin, Texas, and begins Friday. Probably the most recognizable of those acts is Har Mar Superstar and Hippo Campus. The latter, an act from St. Paul recently released a strong album, "Landmark." I really enjoyed the song "Way It Goes." I really think that the band has a bright future in the industry. They could easily be the next Strokes if they want.

I have several photos to share from Feb. 23-28. They can be purchased at https://ecmpublishers.smugmug.com/MorrisonCountyRecord/Sports

Lost in You

In continuing with February's trend of bands and artists on the comeback trail, Bush recently released "Lost in You" a single that was pretty darn good. I enjoyed listening to it, but unlike Bush's hey day, the song is somewhat forgettable, and ultimately, I think it probably won't bring Bush back to relevance.

I have several photos from Feb. 16-21. Enjoy.
