While the internet has been flooded the past couple of days with the news and tributes and whatnot of David Bowie, I was already planning to review his album for this week, so screw it, I'll join the fray as well. Plus Bowie rocked. His album "Blackstar" came out, Friday. It is deep, dark and brilliant. A must listen for any fan of real music. Bowie was an innovator and reinvented himself many times, and this album kind of accumulates a lot of that. The opener, sounds very Thom York-inspired. "Sue (Or in a Season of Crime)" kind of gives off a Red Hot Chili Pepper vibe, but with haunting lyrics, and the closer "I Can't Give Everything Away" is a beautiful and emotional balad. Classic Bowie. RIP.
Only a few photos from the first week of 2016, and they are all from the Swanville/Upsala boys basketball contest, Jan. 5.
