How a listener reviews Weezer's latest effort, the "Teal Album," which is an album entirely of covers, is based on solely on what they're looking for. If they are huge fans of Weezer and want to hear them accurately cover a bunch of peoples songs note for note, but with a pinch of Weezer, then this album is very good. However, if they are a lover of music and believe that the art of a great cover song is that the band gets creative and interprets the song and makes it their own, this album is not so great. Personally, I am conflicted by both arguments. The fan-boy in me really likes that Weezer is very talented at making themselves sound much like the original, and they are fairly easy to listen to and somewhat enjoy. However, the critic in me thinks this is just another terrible Weezer output much like everything since Maladroit. I still listened, so I guess it is still working out for the band.
Anyhow, enjoy some photos from events between Jan. 17-23. I have some Nordic Skiing, wrestling and of course some hoops.
