Burn the Witch

I was planning on writing a review for Drake's new album "VIEWS," which came out Friday, but if an iconic band strangely releases a single, it is kind of a drop-everything type of situation. That band is of course Radiohead, who slowly began erasing its online platform yesterday, deleting tweets, facebook page and website. You know, just like bands do from time to time. Then early this morning the band began posting strange and short claymation video clips. Eventually the videos made sense as clibs from a now-released music video (on youtube) for the new single "Burn the Witch," presumably from an upcoming album. The single was also released on Spotify. Both of which are baffling, since Radiohead front man Thom Yorke has famously stood out against both platforms. As far as the song, it was worth the five-year wait. It is a deeply complete song with a lot of strings, dynamics and powerful lyrics. I cannot wait for the new album, and I only hope I don't have to wait too long for it (though I'm sure I will).

I also have some photos to share from April 14-19. I will add the rest from April 21-today next week, since I missed a blog last week (way too busy).

Here they are:
Swanville freshman Emily Beseman attempts a bunt back on April 18.

Upsala sophomore Ashley Biniek bats in a game against Isle, April 18.

Cardinals junior Samantha Blonigen fires to first for the out.

Bulldogs senior Ellie Koetter watches a pitch come in.

Beseman prepares to field a ground ball at short stop.

Bulldogs catcher Brooklyn Thieschafer fields a bunt as pitcher Kiley Loven looks with her toward first.

Loven delivers a pitch.

Royalton senior Parker Brezinka throws to first for an out on a groundball back to the mound, April 15.

Pierz first baseman David Skiba catches a throw over as a diving Brezinka gets back to the bag.

Senior Jason Fussy tosses to first base.

Pierz shortstop Lane Girtz unloads to first base.

USA senior Tim Valencia-Louden lands in the long jump at Holdingford, April 14.

Matt Kummet's unusual delivery leaves me with photos like this.

Brezinka delivers a pitch against Pierz.

Senior Sam Mettler in the 4x800 in Holdingford.

In the 100 meter dash (from left): USA's Andrew Prokott, Dylan Kottschade and Holdingford's Dylan Grimsley.

Ethan McCoy runs the 100 meter dash.

Tessa Siltala of Holdingford clears a high jump height.

Kottschade tosses more than 106 feet in the discus.

Senior Jarick Rieffer leaps in the long jump.

Little Falls senior pitcher Thomas Miller, April 19 against Zimmerman.

Miller pitched the first five innings of a Flyers no-hitter.

Senior Braden Backowski blasts a shot into the outfield for a hit.

Miller celebrates with teammates after a home run.

Miller has been huge for the Flyers, leading them to a strong 6-2 start.

Lawrence Mettler competes in the long jump.
