L.A. Girlz

Its fourth single, "L.A. Girlz," is yet another reason for me to dread the release of Weezer's now-titled "White Album" that is set to be released April 1. Weezer released the typical drivel, another attempt to recreate the magic the band found on its early albums, and occasionally found on albums like "Hurley" and 2014's "Everything Will Be Alright In the End." It hasn't so far.

Here are a collection of photos I took at sporting events from Feb. 11-16. Enjoy.

Pierz junior Matt Tautges passes as Holdingford's Dalton Frink looks on.

Pioneers senior Aaron Weber drives between Frink and Matt Catlin.

Catlin watches as Pierz' Jonny Kasper barrels over Holdingford senior Alex Knapp, Feb. 12.

Weber is guarded by Knapp.

Upsala senior Brandon Wolbeck attempts a shot over Swanville's Troy Evans, Feb. 11.

Cardinals junior Myron Ripplinger tosses a pass over Bulldogs guard Lawrence Mettler.

Upsala guard Parker Barth is surrounded by Carter Loven (No. 5) and Travis Barthel.

The Little Falls bench storms the ice after a double overtime win over Fergus Falls in the section quarterfinals, Feb. 16.

Flyers senior Thomas Miller celebrates after scoring the go-ahead goal.

Emily Beseman of Swanville passes to a teammate with West Central Area defenders Demara Bumgardner (No. 10) and Abby Oberg.

Little Falls' Bryce Dedomines tries to breakup a pass from Tosten Mann (No. 10) to Logan Wentworth.

Little Falls senior Braden Backowski tries to sweep a loose puck past Fergus Falls goaltender Drew Luhning.

Couple frames later.

Ben Sowada looks to backhand past the Otters' Brad Moxness.

The Flyers celebrate with the student section after a goal.

Miller celebrates after the Flyers scored on a power play.

Beseman and senior Ellie Koetter trap West Central Area's Ruthie Holmes.

Beseman drives to the hoop and is fouled by Oberg.

Swanville's Avery Jackson sizes up a jump shot.

Celebrate

"Khalifa" is as advertised, a random collection of Wiz Khalifa songs about smoking weed. It's kind of been every album he's ever made. Bottom line is that if you like Wiz and listening to a smooth, laid back rap album with a lot of weed smoking and laughs, you'll enjoy this. If you don't, you won't. Pretty simple. I enjoyed it, but was far from blown away by any means. "Celebrate" featuring Rico Love was pretty good.

I have 35 photos to share from events from Feb. 5-9.

Former Pierz standout and St. Cloud State 165-pound wrestler Clint Poster grabs on to Kegen Fingalsen, Feb. 4 in Pierz.

Roylaton's Riley Smieja puts up a shot in a crowd of Thunder defenders, including  Jesse Warner (No. 35) and Blake Fossland (No. 13), Feb. 5.

Royals junior Jordan Malikowski rebounds over LPGE's Cody Marcyes.

Royalton senior Ben Borash dribbles in the corner.

Borash passes out of a double team against Thunder big man John Towner.

Royals senior guard David Grittner dribbles past LPGE defender Mitchell Middendorf.

Reese Kapsner wrestles against Cambridge-Isanti's Casey Schlickenmeyer, Feb. 4 in Pierz.

Poster assumes the neutral position.

Poster is introduced before his match, which we won via pin.

Pierz wrestlers and spectators are excited during David Skiba's match after a big throw by the 285-pound, first-year wrestler.

Skiba works to get back up against Bluejacket heavyweight Will Flemister.

Not sure, but this looks like maybe Brett Kapsner against Luke Rambow.

Kolton Eischens holds down Bluejacket wrestler Martin Puttbrese.

Pierz' Brandon Ortman tries to take down a Bluejackets wrestler.

Think this is Reese Kapsner again.

This too.

Royalton post Cassidy Hall fights between Holdingford's Courtney Thielen (No. 32) and Kailee Heinen.

Hall again between Thielen (left) and Heinen (No. 24).

Royals freshman Morgan Wagner drives inside, Feb. 9.

Royalton senior Amy Hoover fakes a pass.

Royals senior Beth Cimenski drives in against the Huskers' Lizzy Solarz.

Macey Petron passes out to the perimeter.

Royalton junior Brooke Tschida works inside.

Cimenski fights with Holdingford's Taylor Popp.

Holdingford's Corrie Ethen blocks Royalton senior Madi Rudolph.

Every You Every Me

Placebo is one of those underground-type, indie bands from the 90s and early 2000s, and they recently were invited to make an MTV Unplugged album, and I personally think it's fantastic. Some songs do not change too much, but others are completely different, and it's nice to hear.

Many photos to share from events between Feb. 1-2.

Little Falls' Braden Backowski tries to block a clear out attempt by Logan Neu of St. Cloud Cathedral, Monday, Feb. 1.

Thomas Miller (No. 11) passes to teammate Landon Bjorge as a Crusders defender hits the deck to try and block the breakaway.

Flyers senior Luke Sowada covers up on the Crusaders' Connor Beltz.

Battle of the sixes: Beltz (left) and Bjorge.

Hunter Swanson looks on after a shot from the point as Bjorge and Beltz battle in front of Cathedral netminder Keegan Karki.

Mack Anez, a Flyers senior, makes a backhand turn.

Swanson passes the puck to the outside on a power play as Cathedral's Michael Spethmann looks on.

Little Falls' Landon Johnson winds up to hit a shot past Neu.

The Flyers celebrate a goal.

Anez stretches for a shot past Beltz.

Upsala junior Katlin Welinski drives the hoop as Brooke Tschida of Royalton attempts to cover her.

Macey Petron crossover in the corner.

Petron and Upsala's Stefani Pohlman look on after a Petron shot.

Royalton's Amy Hoover covers Upsala senior Kendra Lange.

Petron (left) and Allyson Waletski of Royalton cover Welinski on a drive to the hoop.

Welinski is guarded by the Royals' Madi Rudolph.

Upsala senior Kiley Smieja goes to the basket.
