Youngblood

Green Day still hasn't made any good music this century. That's what I surmised after listening to their latest effort "Revolution Radio." Perhaps the creepiest and strangest song was "Youngblood," which honestly felt like it was written for a Twilight movie. I used to like Green Day as a kid, when albums like "Dookie" and "Nimrod" ruled the roost, but much like their '90s rock counterpart,Weezer, the new millennium has done them no favors.

Fantasy football took a turn for the worse this week in my main league, as I dropped a stinker by scoring only 88 points. I did win in two of my other three leagues though, including one where I still sit on top with a 5-0 record.

I have a ton of photos this week to share from a variety of area events, enjoy. If you want to purchase any photos check out ecmpublishers.smugmug.com/MorrisonCountyRecord/Sports:

Moth Into Flame

It's hard to believe it, but Metallica is still releasing good music. I mean, I'm not the hugest fan of Metallica by any means, but I'll listen to them on occasion, mostly the hits. So I wasn't expecting a whole lot with the recent single "Moth Into Flame," but man, it delivers. A really sweet guitar riff, with a strong lyric and beat in general. I'm sold on the new Metallica, which sounds like just old Metallica, but not.

Fantasy update: 4-0 and first place in two leagues, including my main league. I'm 2-2 in the other two leagues. Pretty happy with the start, and I own Julio Jones in three of those leagues so, yeah, I had a good week.

I have a ton of photos to share this week, enjoy.
