The Balad of My Brain

I recently discovered a delightful new little band called The 1975. I listened to their new album "I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful..." It was a pretty enjoyable and listenable album. I don't know much about the band, but I plan to take a closer look after a first-listen of the album. The album came to a desirable head with the song "The Balad of My Brain."

Sorry about this, but I'm just a bit too busy to post all the pictures, but here is a link to all this pictures from May 3-10.

One Dance

Unfortunately my decade-long personal feud with Apple has intermingled with my love of Drake. He apparently decided that he is going to have a limited release of his new album "Views" on AppleMusic. Grr. At least the single for "One Dance" is on Spotify. When are artists going to stop being so selfish and put things where I can get them for free? Seriously!?

Anyhow, I have a ton of pictures from April 21-May 1, next week I'll begin from May 3 and on, as I am still attempting to catch up for the week I missed.

This might be Riley Hoskins. The tournament was the Pre-section at Blackberry Ridge, Monday, April 24.

Burn the Witch

I was planning on writing a review for Drake's new album "VIEWS," which came out Friday, but if an iconic band strangely releases a single, it is kind of a drop-everything type of situation. That band is of course Radiohead, who slowly began erasing its online platform yesterday, deleting tweets, facebook page and website. You know, just like bands do from time to time. Then early this morning the band began posting strange and short claymation video clips. Eventually the videos made sense as clibs from a now-released music video (on youtube) for the new single "Burn the Witch," presumably from an upcoming album. The single was also released on Spotify. Both of which are baffling, since Radiohead front man Thom Yorke has famously stood out against both platforms. As far as the song, it was worth the five-year wait. It is a deeply complete song with a lot of strings, dynamics and powerful lyrics. I cannot wait for the new album, and I only hope I don't have to wait too long for it (though I'm sure I will).

I also have some photos to share from April 14-19. I will add the rest from April 21-today next week, since I missed a blog last week (way too busy).

Here they are:

Cardinals junior Samantha Blonigen fires to first for the out.

Bulldogs senior Ellie Koetter watches a pitch come in.

Senior Jason Fussy tosses to first base.

Pierz shortstop Lane Girtz unloads to first base.
